Huntingdon racing abandoned as river bursts banks and floods track AGAIN with weather causing mass cancellations

RACING at Huntingdon has been abandoned after a river burst its banks and flooded the track – again.

A deluge of rain hit the Alconbury Brook and the course and ‘racecourse facilities’ have ‘no possibility’ of improvement before Friday’s racing.

The river also burst its banks and flooded the course in December, when this photo was taken

This is the second time in as many months the course has been flooded.

Racing chiefs abandoned a December 6 meet after torrential rain again meant the river burst its banks.

The winter weather has caused havoc in racing and forced a mass of cancellations.

The busy Jumps season has been decimated by a mix of snow and the conditions brought in by Storm Christoph.

More to follow.
