I missed out on a massive Royal Ascot winner after huge error, people told me they were sickened by what I did

PUNTERS were left absolutely sickened after seeing what one Royal Ascot bettor cashed out his £20,000 winner for.

The punter staked £7.50 each way (so a total of £15) on Valiant Force and The King’s horse Desert Hero.

The punter would have won more than £20,000 had he let his bet ride – but instead he cashed out for £840

Football superagent Kia Joorabchian was left in utter disbelief as he saw his 150-1 outsider Valiant Force storm to victory in the Norfolk.

The punter posted a photo of their betslip with the cash out offering £840.81 with Desert Hero still to race.

Rather than let it ride and win a potential £20,229 from the final horse, the bettor decided to take the money and run.

Imagine his horror then as he witnessed Charles’ horse Desert Hero win a thriller at 18-1.

The punter used £40.81 of their cash out winnings to back Desert Hero separately to net £775.39 on the horse.

But other Royal Ascot bettors slated him for winning £1,616 when he would have been £20,000 better off.

A Twitter user wrote: “Delete your apps and never bet again.”

One said: “Cashing out a £19.5k negative swing and you’re calling it a great day? Ffs man. You’re a bookies’ dream.”

Another wrote: “Sorry but some people shouldn’t be allowed to bet.

“I know £800 is a lot but why put a £15 bet on a 1.5k/1 double if you’re going to cash for £800?”

One comment read: “The cruelty of betting is this, even though you’re up over a grand will always knock you sick it could’ve been 20.”

Another wrote: “That is shocking. Why not use the partial? Take £400 and let the rest ride for 10k? Knock you sick that would.”

Some disagreed though and said he had still made a tidy profit from £15.

One punter posted: “People moan about cashing out, but in fairness, when you put on an acca or a double you don’t honestly think they’re all going to win.

“Guy did the right thing, took the cash and punted 40 notes on the other horse and won £1500 overall. Not bad from a £15 bet.”

And the punter himself said: “Sorry to let you all down but… couldn’t let £800 ride. Great day though.”
