ITV Racing presenter and ex-jockey Leonna Mayor slams ‘digusting, sad creature’ for awful hate mail

LEONNA MAYOR slammed the ‘digusting, sad creature’ who sent her awful hate mail.

The ex-jockey, who is now part of the presenting team on ITV Racing, received the letter at Newcastle races ahead of the Racing League fixture on Thursday night.

Ex-jockey Leonna Mayor hit out after receiving a hateful letter in the post

Mayor, 31, is a broadcaster for ITV and Sky Sports

The sad act who wrote it called her a ‘s***e gob’ and said she had ‘ruined ITV Racing’.

Mayor, who retired from the saddle in 2013 with 32 winners to her name and is the captain of Team Yorkshire, was appalled by the letter.

She is used to being in the public eye, having worked in broadcasting for several years while she was branded the ‘world’s sexiest jockey‘ after a lingerie photoshoot in Zoo magazine.

She has received plenty of stick on social media in that time, but the hateful letter was a step too far.

She posted a picture of the letter on social media and said: “What kind of disgusting sad creature would make this much effort just to send a sh***y letter about someone they don’t personally know.

“On a brighter note… does it mean you’ve made it when you receive hate mail?

“I’ve been through enough to worry about a letter. It is awful though.

“People need to realise behaving in this way is so unacceptable. I just don’t see the point in it at all.”

She received hundreds of replies on Twitter in support.

One user said: “Hope you can treat it with the contempt it deserves.”

Another posted: “The price of fame unfortunately, there are some very rude and self opinionated people out there. I enjoy your input on ITV Racing so rise above it.”

While another said: “Imagine being this person. How sad an existence it must be.”

It is not the first time Mayor has been on the receiving end of abuse.

She spoke to SunSport last year ahead of the Derby, revealing that she received stick ‘a lot of the time’.
