Jeff Stelling bags a winner at Fontwell and takes home £5,000

Jeff Stelling, the former Sky Sports presenter, enjoyed a big win at Fontwell as his horse Organdi triumphed in the 3m2f handicap chase. Stelling, who left Sky Sports at the end of last season, is a member of the Beautiful People syndicate. Despite a slow start, Organdi clinched victory by an impressive 21 lengths, with jockey Sam Twiston-Davies at the helm. Stelling, a known racing enthusiast, expressed his excitement before the race, and his horse has now won a total of £50,000 in prize money for the syndicate.

A passion for racing

Stelling, known for his role on Soccer Saturday, has been part of the horse racing scene since 1992, when he joined Sky. In an interview with Sky Sports Racing before the Fontwell race, the presenter expressed his love for the sport. Stelling stated, "Racing is one of my great passions, after football of course, but it's still up there. Fontwell's a local course to me and it's fantastic, it's wonderful to see the place so busy."

A successful horse for the syndicate

Organdi has been a solid performer for the Beautiful People syndicate, with six wins in 27 starts. The horse's victory at Fontwell earned the syndicate just over £5,000 in prize money. Stelling's next venture will be joining Talksport in December to present the Breakfast show every Monday and Tuesday. It seems that Stelling will continue to pursue his "great passion" for horse racing even after leaving Sky Sports.
