Kia Joorabchian Fires Kevin Stott as Amo Racing’s No1 Jockey After Just Seven Months

Unhappy with King Of Steel's Ride

Football superagent Kia Joorabchian has shockingly sacked Kevin Stott as Amo Racing's No1 jockey after just seven months. Joorabchian was reportedly dissatisfied with Stott's performance in the Irish Champion Stakes.

Stern Words at the Curragh

Joorabchian confronted Stott at the Curragh on the weekend following the disappointing performance. The Derby runner-up to Auguste Rodin finished strongly but too late, losing by a length in their rematch.

Disappointing Results Continue

Stott's struggles continued when he finished over 12 lengths behind the winner in the Goffs Vincent O'Brien National Stakes. This poor performance on Amo's big 2000 Guineas hope, Bucanero Fuerte, ultimately led to his dismissal.

No Reason Given for Sacking

Stott expressed his disappointment at the news, stating that no reason was provided for his dismissal. Despite this setback, he thanked Kia and all the Amo trainers for the opportunities he was given, including riding Amo's first Group 1 winner.

Sun Racing has reached out to Joorabchian for comment on the decision to sack Stott.

Rumored Issues Between Stott and Joorabchian

Rumors of tensions between Stott and Joorabchian had surfaced in July. Stott's TV presenter girlfriend, Meg Nicholls, denied claims online that the couple had already split, shutting down the rumors.
