LOVE ISLAND star Chris Hughes was an ’emotional wreck’ after watching his beloved racehorse Annie Mc win at Warwick.
And then he was told his love for her was the reason he didn’t have a girlfriend!

Proud co-owner Hughes said he was ‘shaking’ and that the horse would ‘have my heart forever’ after she scooped the £17,832 first-place prize.
And now he will be dreaming of even bigger titles with the horse bound for the Cheltenham Festival.
Annie Mc, a 13-8 favourite for the Listed Mares Chase over 2m4f at Warwick, ran out an easy winner.
The Jonjo O’Neill-trained star finished five-and-a-half lengths clear of runner-up Zambella.
And Hughes tweeted: “I’m gone, emotional wreck. Pure heart. Shaking.
“I love you so much Annie, you’ve my heart forever. Superstar.
“Jumps racing gets you like this. Best sport in the world.”
Speaking of what the horse means to Hughes, famed trainer O’Neill quipped: “Chris Hughes loves her to bits – I think that’s why he hasn’t got a girlfriend, he’s fallen in love with the mare!”
Annie Mc will is now set to run in next month’s Mrs Paddy Power Mares’ Chase at Cheltenham at odds of 10-1.
And Hughes, who co-owns the horse as part of the Coral Champions Club, added: “She’s just so special. She jumped the best I’ve ever seen, and that’s her forte!
“Warwick was great prep. Going left-handed suits Annie best and the ground was ideal.

Annie Mc has proved a very successful runner, with seven wins and almost £100,000 in prize money.
