YOU would think having a heart attack every time your horse runs would be a sign to pack it all in.

But for Mark Munrowd that dread and agony has ended up being nothing but joy.

Main Fact has been an absolute sensation and is going for his tenth straight win

Well, at least for the past nine times his incredible horse Main Fact has run.

Bought for a bargain £6,000, the fan favourite is going for a remarkable TENTH straight victory at Ascot on Saturday.

Munrowd is delighted his unlikely hero – a relative snip when horses with the most potential can match near £1million – will finally get a shot at the ‘Premier League’ of racing.

And while there is the danger the bubble could burst against the likes of superstars Paisley Park and Thyme Hill, the seven-year-old may just have it in him to make it a perfect ten.

And crucially, don’t be too put off if you back him only to see him drop out to last.

Munrowd knows all too well how his underdog – who will be ridden by 18-year-old jockey Fergus Gillard – likes to run.

He said: “We got the horse for David Pipe for £6,000 from Doncaster sales. We had the horse on lease to start with and then purchased him.

“He has been a remarkable horse, as everyone can see.

“He gives you a heart attack every time he runs. It takes him a bit of time to get into top gear but he is very well bred.

“When he gets into top gear he really pours it on.

“It’s just special to have these horses and be able to compete at the top level. We’re moving into the Premier League now.

“He deserves his chance. He has done it all his own way and we’re very, very excited.”

Main Fact has turned into a money-making machine for connections.

From his past nine wins they have pocketed an incredible £106,771.98.

Good work if you can get it.

And you can add another £45,560 to that tally should he win again in the 3m 1½f Class 1 contest over hurdles.

It is dream come true money – and a fairytale story, best summed up by trainer David Pipe when he spoke to SunSport recently.

He said: “His owners are having a fantastic time.

“They have loved every minute so far. They love their racing and are living the dream with this horse at present.”
