A POTENTIAL superstar is emerging over in America.
A horse named Flightline is the name on everyone’s lips after he made it a perfect three from three at Santa Anita on Sunday night.
A cool $1 million purchase, he’s already showing that could be money well spent.
On only his third outing, he demolished his smart rivals in the Grade 1 Malibu Stakes by a whopping 11 lengths.
His first two wins were by a combined 26 lengths and trainer John Sadler and jockey Flavien Prat are already waxing lyrical.
After his latest victory, Prat smiled: “I was in cruise control the whole race, galloping freely.
“I wanted to get a good position and get myself into the race.”
His wins could arguably have been by further, but the horse is yet to be tested. He looks in a different league to all of his rivals so far.
Sadler added: “I looked at this beautiful horse and was excited from day one.
“There is a lot of pressure on you, but it’s the pressure you want.
“It’s like the high school coach for LeBron James. You know you have something special, and he is much the best.
“The next race is up to the horse. We have to be true to the horse. This horse is so brilliant. This is not an ordinary horse – this is a very special horse.”
Flightline has some way to go to match the brilliant Frankel who danced his way to 14 straight wins and nearly £3 million in prize money.
It’s early days, but Flightline might be a name we hear a lot more of.
