MIRACLE man Josh Moore could finally leave hospital in the coming weeks.

But any thoughts the 30-year-old might have of returning to the saddle have been shot down by his dad, trainer Gary.

Josh Moore has beaten a life-threatening illness and horrid injuries and is on the brink of making a full recovery back to health

Moore suffered breaks to his back, leg and ribs in a fall on April 16 before a life-threatening infection left him in a coma.

After several weeks under sedation, needing a ventilator to breathe, his condition has improved.

He has been in a London hospital since late May and is now having intensive rehab.

His sister, Sky Sports Racing broadcaster Hayley, said: “He will continue to have rehab in hospital for a few more weeks.

“Then that will carry on elsewhere.”

Moore’s career has been beset by injury, his latest horror fall coming just seven months after he broke his back at Plumpton.

He had to wait nine days for surgery on that occasion, with staff overwhelmed by Covid-19 cases.

When asked if there was a chance Moore could ride again, Gary said: “Over my dead body.”

Jockey Rhys Clutterbuck, a close friend of Moore’s, said the injured rider remains in decent spirits in hospital.

Clutterbuck said: “It is a big change in the yard with Josh not there every day.

“It is a miracle he is absolutely fine and he should be out of hospital soon.”
