, Nicky Henderson Apologizes as Biggest Names Pulled from Tingle Creek Day at Sandown

Trainer Nicky Henderson has issued an apology to punters after withdrawing his star horses from Tingle Creek day at Sandown. Henderson made the decision to scratch Constitution Hill, Shishkin, and Willmount from the highly anticipated eight-race card. The last-minute changes have left racing fans disappointed, but Henderson insists that the well-being of the horses comes first.

Reigning Champion Hurdle King Misses Out

Constitution Hill, the reigning Champion Hurdle king and undefeated superstar, was set to make his season debut in the rearranged Fighting Fifth at Sandown. However, due to the extremely testing going, Henderson deemed it unfair to race him under such extreme conditions for his first run of the season. Instead, Constitution Hill will now target the Christmas Hurdle at Kempton on Boxing Day.

Other Withdrawals and a Glimmer of Hope

In addition to Constitution Hill, Shishkin and Willmount were also withdrawn from their intended engagements. Henderson expressed his regret over their absence but emphasized the importance of prioritizing the horses' welfare. The participation of Impose Toi and Chantry House is still under consideration, but Henderson confirmed that Jonbon will compete in the Tingle Creek, as he is fit and well and the ground conditions are more suitable for him.

While it is undoubtedly disappointing for fans, Henderson's decision highlights the trainer's commitment to putting the well-being of his horses first. Racing enthusiasts will have to wait a little longer to see these top contenders in action, but the welfare and safety of the horses remain paramount.
