Nicky Henderson excited for Altior return as Betfair Super Saturday looms near

NICKY HENDERSON believes Altior can bounce back to his best in the Betfair Exchange Chase on Saturday.

The dual Champion Chase winner heads a strong team lined up for Newbury by the Seven Barrows maestro.

Although not seen since finishing a tired second toCyrnameback in November, Henderson believes the break has done his star the world of good.

He said: “We’re back on track again after having had a slightly interrupted season.

“It was really that race at Ascot with Cyrname. It was a bit of a bombshell for him really. He was ready for a race but he wasn’t ready for a bust-up, ours never are.

“It was then bottomless ground on the day and in hindsight we shouldn’t have run him. If I hadn’t, the race of the century would have become a walkover.

“It knocked him sideways. Then he had an abscess on his withers, but now he’s back ready to go.”

Henderson also issued an update on the promisingNever Adaptand the exciting novice hurdlerChantry House, as well as revealing plans for Sprinter Sacre’s brother,Flinteur Sacre.
