Nicky Henderson’s new £350,000 ‘superstar’ with brilliant name set to make ‘spectacular’ debut on Saturday

NICKY HENDERSON is all set to release his new £350,000 ‘superstar’ in a ‘spectacular’ debut on Saturday.

The brilliantly-named Jet Powered has been bought for Joe and Marie Donnelly – owners of superstar chaser Shishkin.

Henderson could have racing’s next superstar on his hands

Jet Powered is set to make his debut at Newbury on Saturday

A former bookie turned art collector, Donnelly is said to be worth well in advance of £100million.

Still, £350,000 is serious outlay for a Borris House point-to-point winner over three miles last December.

Jet Powered will run in the Shishkin silks after being entered for the bumper at Newbury this weekend.

And the five-year-old gelding could repay his owners to the tune of £4,520 with victory in the 2m½f flat race.

But far, far greater riches look set for the future.

Henderson, who looks set to take runaway Supreme winner Constitution Hill to Ireland to take on Honeysuckle next month, no doubt has big plans over jumps for his new stable star.

A son of Jet Away, an emerging National Hunt sire, Jet Powered was labelled ‘breathtaking’ by the man who sent him to auction.

Cormac Farrell told Racing Post just after the sale was completed in January: “I do think he’s an absolute superstar.

“His work had been spectacular and his performance last Sunday was breathtaking.

“He’s just a super-exciting horse.

“We only train a handful of point-to-pointers every year and to get a result like this is huge.”
