Paul Nicholls enjoys stunning 10,417-1 seven-timer on blockbuster Saturday including Master Tommytucker and McFabulous

PAUL Nicholls was in seventh heaven after a stunning 10,417-1 acca on Saturday.

The former champ sent out seven winners across the cards on a blockbuster afternoon.

Nicholls was at Kempton to watch Master Tommytucker and McFabulous win both Grade 2s on the card.

He also sent out Barbados Buck’s to win at the Sunbury track, while he has doubles at Chepstow and Wincanton.

Nicholls said: “We hadn’t had a winner in 2021 yet – now we’ve had seven in one day!

“We had eight in a day two years ago which is our best, but I think seven winners isn’t a bad day’s work!”

Master Tommytucker’s task was made a good deal easier in the Silviniaco Conti Chase following the early departure of odds-on favourite Imperial Aura.

He was fully in command up the straight under Harry Cobden and survived a terrible blunder at the last to win convincingly.

Nicholls said: “He would be awesome around Aintree so he will miss Cheltenham and that will be his aim.

“He has a massive engine and he would gallop all day, when he concentrates he’s great.

“Thank God Harry was able to hold on at the last.

“I can definitely see him lining up in next year’s King George. He likes it around here and he has huge ability.”

Runaway Relkeel Hurdle winner McFabulous is also set to sidestep the Cheltenham Festival.

The improving seven-year-old will be trained towards the Aintree Hurdle in the spring before going novice chasing next season.

Nicholls said: “We will give him an entry in the Stayers’ Hurdle just in case it cuts up badly, but Aintree is the aim for him.

“I can’t see him reversing form with Thyme Hill and Paisley Park, but the Aintree Hurdle would be perfect for him. He has loads of speed.

“He took a little while to come right over hurdles, but he has loads of talent and he will be a very exciting chaser next season.”

There was a huge shock later on the card at Kempton as Boreham Bill sprung a 66-1 surprise in the Lanzarote Hurdle to give the bookies some respite.
