Trainer Paul Nicholls has made a bold move by choosing a new jockey for his star horse Bravemansgame in the upcoming Betfair Chase. Bravemansgame has been ridden by Harry Cobden in all of his 18 starts, but with Cobden set to ride at Ascot on Saturday, Nicholls has called on the experienced Daryl Jacob to take the reins at Haydock.
New jockey, new hope
Daryl Jacob, a seasoned jockey with plenty of big race experience, will be hoping to bring Bravemansgame back to his winning form. Jacob has ridden 29 Grade 1 winners in his career and has a successful partnership with trainer Nicholls, having already won three Grade 1 races together.
Monitoring the ground
While the jockey change brings new possibilities, Nicholls is keeping a close eye on the weather conditions. If the ground becomes too heavy, Bravemansgame will not run. However, the trainer is encouraged by the weather forecast and remains hopeful for a good race on Saturday.
Partnered with the best
Daryl Jacob is the retained rider for owners Simon Munir and Isaac Souede, who have a strong presence in horse racing. He is no stranger to success, having won the Betfair Chase three times in the past with fan-favorite Bristol De Mai. Jacob's partnership with Nicholls has proven fruitful in the past, and they will be aiming for another victory with Bravemansgame.
