PINATUBO bounced back to winning ways after a successful raid in the Prix Jean Prat dropped back to seven furlongs.
Charlie Appleby’s superstar has suffered two defeats on the spin at a mile, but despite a troubled passage, got his head back in front to bag the all important Group 1 at three.
Will Buick was happy to sit in the rear for much of the race at Deauville but once he got in the clear, he battled past Aidan O’Brien’s Lope Y Hernandez in the last furlong who stayed on for second.
Marco Botti’s Malotru ran a huge race in third at 40-1 to complete the clean sweep for the raiders.
