A RACING punter stands to win more than £500,000 from a £5 bet – but can cash out NOW for £275,000.
The genius bettor placed a five-fold taking in two races from Royal Ascot last year and three from this year’s Cheltenham Festival.
And all he needs to scoop the jackpot is for huge odds-on favourite Envoi Allen – who has NEVER lost a race – to win tomorrow at odds of 4-9.
The punter, Paul Dean, posted his incredible Betfair betslip to Twitter.
He stands to win so much because he backed the horses at odds far above what they actually won at.
For example, Bob Olinger won the Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle at odds of 6-4.
But the punter backed the horse at a massive 25-1.
The same happened with Shishkin, who was backed to win the Arkle Chase at 4-1 before triumphing at a miniscule 4-9.
Golden Horde won the Commonwealth Cup at Ascot back in June last year at 5-1 – but was backed at 12-1 by Dean.
And Hello Youmzain was a 10-1 winner in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes.
On the day he was sent off at 4-1.
Now the life-changing sum of money will be his if Envoi Allen – who was moved to Henry de Bromhead’s yard from Gordon Elliott’s – wins in the 1.20.
But there’s more.
Betfair have offered Dean £275,000 NOW, meaning the bet ends.

Dean has yet to decide whether to take the cash and run – or let it roll for half a million.
Betfair’s Barry Orr said: “The customer is sitting on over half a million pound payout for just a £5 bet and told me he wont be able to sleep tonight.
“I’d say that’s a massive understatement.
“He could take the cash out offer of £275,000 and sit back safe in the knowledge that regardless of what happens in the race he is £275,000 better off, or he can reject the offer and hope that Envoi Allen beats his seven oppoents and also safely negotiate the 16 fences to land his incredible bet.
“Envoi Allen is 4-9 favourite so he may well stick and let the bet run.”
Several punters have shown incredible forward thinking with some big money bets this year.
SunSport told you plumber Christoper Bailey could have cashed out for £5,000 from £40 before his selections even ran.
He eventually landed a £28,000 win after Sir Gerhard, Monkfish and Shishkin all won at Cheltenham.
