A PUNTER who won £250,000 from a losing Cheltenham bet is standing on the brink of another massive windfall.

Paul Dean made headlines after his genius partial cash-out on Envoi Allen at the 2021 Cheltenham Festival.

The punter posted this betslip which shows him needing two more horses to win to land a massive £75,000 windfall from a tenner

Dean, from Stockon-on-Tees, shrewdly cashed out half of his potential winnings on the horse, who fell when starting odds-on favourite for the Marsh Novices’ Chase.

The punter scooped quarter of a million quid from a fiver after the other four legs of his bet won.

And now it looks like his uncanny ability to predict the future could net him £75,000 from £10.

Dean, who specialises in backing horses ante-post, found Epsom Derby and Oaks winners Desert Crown and Tuesday at huge prices.

Sir Michael Stoute won a sixth Derby with Desert Crown last Saturday, who was sent off at 5-2.

Dean backed the horse at 40-1, while Aidan O’Brien’s Tuesday just pipped Emily Upjohn to win Friday’s Oaks at 15-2.

The punter put those two horses in a four-fold with two set to run at Cheltenham Festival next year.

Dean needs Constitution Hill, the runaway winner of this year’s Supreme, to win the Champion Hurdle at 2-1.

And if Galopin Des Champs wins the Gold Cup at 7-2 he will be a grand total of £74,722.50 better off.

The odds of the four-fold coming in are just over 7,471-1.

Dean posted a photo of his betslip on Twitter, to which one follower responded saying it was a ‘ridiculously good bet’.

Amazingly, Dean said he backed Desert Crown, now favourite for October’s Arc, after watching him on debut… all the way back in November!

He also posted a separate slip showing him having £20 on Constitution Hill and Galopin Des Champs in the same two races to win £26,520.

It’s fair to say he faces an anxious wait to see if the horses trained by Nicky Henderson and Willie Mullins respectively can do the business for him in nine months time.

Dean’s win from last year started with two runners at Royal Ascot – which kicks off next week.

He backed Golden Horde and Hello Youmzain to win at 12-1 and 10-1 respectively in summer 2020.

Shishkin won the Champion Chase at 4-1 and Bob Olinger the Ballymore at 25-1 – way bigger than their actual starting prices.

Dean backed up his £250,000 win the very next day when winning £140,000 on the Gold Cup after calling the first three horses home.

He said at the time: “I am going to have a few beers and let this sink in.”

Fair to say Dean will have a lot riding on Constitution Hill and Galopin Des Champs at next year’s Cheltenham Festival
