Punter wins £11,000 from just a fiver after picking 200-1 no-hoper Ultimate Shock in miracle treble

A LUCKY punter was celebrating winning £11,000 from just a fiver after backing a 200-1 no-hoper to win as part of their miracle treble.

The aptly named Ultimate Shock was the final leg of the three-leg bet.

Ultimate Shock did just that by winning at 200-1 to land one lucky punter an £11,000 windfall from just £5
The bet was placed in Australia for three races at Pakenham – but converted to pounds it equates to an £11,000 win from a fiver

The horse lived up to its name by sparking a massive upset in the final race at Pakenham racecourse in Australia.

Overall, the odds of pulling off the audacious treble were more than 2,000-1.

A snapshot of the winning bet was posted online and soon shared widely.

Given the other two legs of the treble were short-priced runners, many other punters joked the bettor must have selected a 200-1 shot by accident.

But whatever the reasoning behind it, it proved an inspired call.

Especially given the jockey riding Ultimate Shock was as stunned as everyone else that it managed to win.

Jockey Jade Darose said: “He shocked me because I didn’t think he’d be as good as these.

“He just travelled so well but you’re waiting for them to come 150m out. But he was so tough today.

FRIDAY NIGHT POKER: Play TONIGHT at 8pm to win a share of $5,500

“He’s a bit quirky, he does a few naughty things. But today he just put himself on the speed and he shocked me.

“At the 200m mark he just left them hanging. He was flying and travelled so well.”

This win was not quite as good as the Brit punter who bagged £41,118 from just £3 recently though.

Backing horses from Doncaster to Dubai – with one of them 40-1 – they celebrated the epic 13,705-1 bet landing after Moshaher crossed the line at Meydan at 25-1.
