Punters Left Disappointed as Champion Bumper Hero A Dream To Share Stays on the Flat

Punters were dealt a harsh blow when it was confirmed that A Dream To Share, last year's Champion Bumper hero, will remain on the Flat instead of transitioning to hurdles. A staggering £15,000 was matched on the horse for this year's Supreme Novices' Hurdle and Baring Bingham Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.

Change of Plans

A Dream To Share, owned by JP McManus and trained by John Kiely, had an exceptional season last year, winning five bumpers. However, the horse has been overshadowed by JP's other horses, Mystical Power and Jeriko Du Reponet, causing his odds to drift.

Frank Berry, JP McManus' racing manager, confirmed that A Dream To Share will return in another bumper next month, delaying its move to hurdles. Berry explained, "It's probably getting a bit late to go over hurdles this season, so we'll get him started back in the bumper at the Dublin Racing Festival."

Despite the setback, Berry expressed confidence in A Dream To Share's performance, stating that the horse is in great form and trainer John Kiely is pleased with his progress.

Market Movement

Prior to the decision, £12,455.91 was matched on A Dream To Share for the Supreme on the Betfair Exchange. Additionally, £2,500 was matched on the horse for the Baring Bingham, also on the Betfair Exchange.
