Punters stunned as crazy 200-1 and 100-1 winners land within five minutes of each other on Bank Holiday Monday

PUNTERS were left absolutely floored after 200-1 and 100-1 winners landed within five minutes of each other on Bank Holiday Monday.

Hopefully some of those watching celebrated a bumper payday too after the gargantuan 20,300-1 double came in.

Runninwild was a 200-1 winner at Redcar, completing the crazy 20,300-1 double

Rank 100-1 outsider Katie’s Kitten was the first of the incredibly unlikely runners to emerge victorious.

The Mick Appleby-trained runner won by over a length from 16-5 Canoodled in the 1m 2.15pm Class 5 race at Leicester.

Theodore Ladd was the jockey who got the three-year-old in front, scooping a £2,862 cheque for connections.

The horse opened at 80-1 and briefly dipped to 66-1 before going off at triple figure odds – and looking a winner all the way.

Then, amazingly, five minutes later in the 2.20pm at Redcar, 200-1 Runninwild won by three-quarters of a length.

The Ann Duffield-trained runner, who in two previous runs had come last and second-last and lost by a combined 47 lengths, saw off 18-1 Maywake.

If you had backed them on the Betfair exchnage at their original starting price you’d be celebrating even more as they were listed at 204 and 636 respectively.

Punters were left stunned after the two mega-price winners.

One said simply: “S*** the bed.”

Another wrote: “Good to see Leicester holding Redcar’s beer as far as big priced winners go!”

While a fellow Twitter user said: “Must be a day for outsiders with 200-1 & 100-1 winners so far!”
