PUNTERS think the Epsom Derby favourite is a shoo-in after he got picked to race from the luckiest stall in history.

Aidan O’Brien’s Auguste Rodin has long been at the head of ante-post markets and is around 3-1 fav to triumph on Saturday.

But his price is set to be smashed even further after he was given the plum stall 10 for the Saturday race.

That box has seen more winners than any other since the introduction of stalls in 1967.

It’s not such good news for Frankie Dettori in his final Derby though after he was drawn out on the wing.

Ryan Moore will ride Auguste Rodin from stall 10, from where there have been 10 previous winners.

The most recent was Masar in 2018.

Dettori, however, will set off on Arrest from stall 13 – unlucky for some – as he looks to become the first since Kahyasi in 1988 to win from there.

Only two horses have ever won from that box – with five times the amount of winners coming from Auguste Rodin’s position.

Stall one is typically seen as the racing equivalent of football’s group of death, but Dear My Friend will look to replicate Adayar’s feat from two years ago in winning from the inside.

Six winners have emerged from there in all, the second most along with stall five, where Charlie Johnston’s Dubai Mile will break from.

Dettori said he was ‘pleased’ with Arrest’s draw.

But punters reckon there’s no way Auguste Rodin gets beat now, despite flopping in the 2000 Guineas when last seen.

One bettor said: “Auguste Rodin gets the most successful draw in Derby history. No excuses!”

Another wrote: “Auguste Rodin will get absolutely hammered in after that draw.”

And a fellow punter wrote: “All about Auguste Rodin.”
