TRAINER Ann Duffield has slammed TV pundits who continually write off her horse.

Runninwild has baffled punters and experts alike with two wins this summer at huge odds of 200-1 and 50-1.

Runninwild previously won at Redcar

The latest of those came at Carlisle as despite a late drift, he ran out a cosy victor.

In between his two wins there have been three runs with little to show and goes some way to explain why his odds were again so big.

But Duffield is none the wiser and reckons Runninwild’s owners were pleased as punch with the win that also meant they had the last laugh with the bookies.

She said after the win on Wednesday: “The owners never let a horse of theirs go without a bit of money on.

They backed him a little bit when he won at 200-1, so they’ll have had something on, I’m sure!

“I don’t know why they write him off on the telly. They talked about every horse bar him.

“He is a little bit dopey, it does take him a long time to pick the idea up, but he has always been able to gallop.

“We weren’t surprised when he won at 200-1 and I’m not surprised he won today.”

The horse still has some way to go to beat the biggest-priced winners ever recorded though.

Last November the well-named He Knows No Fear won at a whopping 300-1 in Ireland.
