Racing punter bags £62K from just £2 after picking FIVE winners in a row and cashing out before last one finishes second

A SHREWD punter landed £62,000 from a £2 bet at Wolverhampton on Saturday night.

The Paddy Power customer had a six fold on each race winner and was looking pretty with five from five going into the last.

A lucky punter walked away with £62,000 from Saturday night

But with a potential windfall of £700,000 they pulled the plug and cashed out for £62,000.

And it turned out to be a stroke of genius after the last selection came in second, meaning they’d have taken home £571.

Paddy Power spokesman Paul Binfield said: “This shrewd punter cashed out for over 62 grand before the lucky last at Wolves on Saturday evening.

“No mean sum although they must have been cursing when Toora Loora hit the front inside the last half furlong, but all’s well that ended well with the odds-on favourite coming to beat her and justifying their wise decision to bypass the finale.”

There was another big win with Betway this weekend as a punter took home £2,700 from a £2 bet, backing four races, two from Southwell and two from Cork.

  • Mr Carbonator 325 Southwell 7/2
  • Compass Point 255 Southwell 11/1
  • Conright Boy 300 Cork 11/1
  • Zaccarela 330 Cork (2nd – PAID FIRST PAST THE POST!) 9/2

Betway PR Manager Chad Yeomans said “With Christmas just around the corner, one Betway punter managed to pocket £2.7K from just £2 yesterday.

“Without doubt the two 11/1 shots massively boosted the winnings. Conright Boy rallying to get up in the final stride would have been very pleasing for the Betway customer who will no doubt be enjoying their December much more after yesterday!”
