Richard Hannon still hopes to have King Of Change on the track this season plus updates on Etonian and Chindit

RICHARD Hannon is still hopeful of getting King Of Change on a racecourse this season.

Last year’s 2000 Guineas second and QEII winner has not been seen since his victory at Champions Day.

Hannon’s King Of Change had been third favourite for this year’s QEII

After plans to run in the Queen Anne and then this season’s QEII were abandoned, Hannon now has his eye on some big targets abroad.

He said: “He’s just taken longer than we’d like to get back to how we want.

“Ascot would have come too soon for him so we’ll look to get him back properly and then look abroad.

“I don’t want to mention specific races but there are lots of options there, good races too.”

Meanwhile up and coming two-year-olds Etonian and Chindit could face off in the Group 1 Darley Dewhurst Stakes on October 10.

Etonian was a taking winner of the Group 3 Betway Solario Stakes for Hannon

Etonian was cut into as short as 14-1 for next year’s 2000 Guineas after his Solario Stakes win and the Julie Woods-owned colt could be seen next on Future Champions Day on 10 October.

Hannon added: “Both are ticking away after their wins, nothing is set in stone just yet.

“But I think the Dewhurst would be right for both of them. We like them both.

“Saying that there is the Champagne Stakes next week at Doncaster and Chindit might go there. We won it last year with Threat and we’ll keep an eye.”
