Ryan Moore Hit With Massive Fine and Ban After Stunning Auguste Rodin Win

, Ryan Moore Hit With Massive Fine and Ban After Stunning Auguste Rodin Win

Ryan Moore, one of the world's top jockeys, has been handed a record-breaking fine and banned following his extraordinary victory on Auguste Rodin at the Breeders' Cup. Despite the incredible ride, Moore's use of the whip resulted in a hefty fine and suspension.

Unstoppable Performance

Moore's masterful race riding skills were on full display as he guided Auguste Rodin to a staggering £1.7 million win in the Breeders' Cup Turf. Even when it seemed he was trapped on the rail, Moore remained calm and seized the opportunity when a gap appeared.

A Price to Pay

Unfortunately for Moore, his exceptional performance came at a cost. The jockey was fined a jaw-dropping £16,740 for exceeding the permitted level of whip use, as well as receiving a one-day suspension. This fine sets a new record in the state of California.

An 'Incredible' Ride

Despite the financial punishment, the ride left Auguste Rodin's trainer, Aidan O'Brien, in awe. O'Brien described Moore's performance as 'incredible,' highlighting the skill and talent demonstrated throughout the race.

A Weekend of Wins

Although Moore faced penalties for his use of the whip, he still managed to rake in over £2 million in prize money over the weekend. In addition to the Auguste Rodin victory, Moore also triumphed in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf on Unquestionable. Narrow defeats on Warm Heart and Aesop's Fable did little to diminish Moore's reputation.

Praise from Punters

Punters were quick to praise Moore's skills, even in the face of defeat. Despite narrowly missing out on victory with Warm Heart, Moore's riding received widespread acclaim.

Past Penalties

This is not the first time a jockey has faced severe consequences for rule violations. In a similar case earlier this year, Jim Crowley received a 20-day suspension and a £10,000 fine for exceeding whip limits during a winning ride on Hukum at the King George.
