Despite a less than stellar performance in challenging conditions at the Irish version, NOVEL LEGEND is still worth a bet in the Cesarewitch. This runner, who is loved by owners who always target staying contests, had a strong start to the season with a second-place finish in the Chester Plate at their May meeting. Although he ended up finishing seventh at Royal Ascot due to a barge match, Novel Legend stayed strong and proved his ability over two miles at Newbury before securing a well-deserved win at Goodwood. With the horse being 4lb lower in this race, there's plenty of value in each-way bets at generous odds of 20-1.
Another horse to keep an eye on is LIVE YOUR DREAM, especially if Saeed Bin Suroor decides to enter him in the Cesarewitch. After placing third in the Ebor, he put in a solid effort in a German Group 1 race over 1m4f. Although he had a poor run in the 2021 Cesarewitch, Live Your Dream has improved since then and wouldn't be a bad each-way bet at 20-1 considering his weight.
