The Tote World Pool is back at Newmarket and Templegate has picked out his best bets

PUNTERS from across the world are having a flutter at Newmarket today – and you can join in too.

The World Pool brings backers from across the planet into one giant pool with millions of pounds in play.

The Tote World Pool is back at Newmarket

It’s operated by the Tote in the UK and you can place your bets online, via the Tote app or at the racecourse.

You can bet win or each-way as usual but there are a couple of other options where bigger payouts are on offer.

The Quinella is popular and you have to pick the first and second home in any order – a reverse forecast in old money.

Let’s have a crack at that bet in the 2,000 Guineas.

Native Trail has much the strongest form we’ve seen so far and it will take a big performance by one of his rivals to keep him out of the first two.

It looks wide open for second spot though and there was lots to like about the way Perfect Power won the Greenham at Newbury last time. He looks capable of stepping up again and going close.

The Swinger is another good bet. Here you have to pick two of the first three past the post in any order.

When it comes to the Guineas, we have Native Trail and Perfect Power. They can be joined by Ballydoyle raider Luxembourg who won the Futurity at Doncaster in October and is a proven stayer.

The Palace House Stakes at 3.00 looks a good race to try another Swinger in. Came From The Dark is proven at this level and trainer Ed Walker has made a sharp start to the season.

Tis Marvellous broke the clock when landing the Beverley Bullet over this trip and is another likely contender. Complete the bet with Twilight Calls.

He has had a recent run so fitness won’t be an issue and had plenty in hand when scoring over course and distance last time.

TIPS

3.00 SWINGER on Came From The Dark, Tis Marvellous and Twilight Calls

3.40 QUINELLA on Native Trail and Perfect Power; SWINGER on Native Trail, Perfect Power and Luxembourg
