Top Jockey Takes Indefinite Break from Racing

Life-Changing Fall

Ethan Brown, a top jockey who had won £9million by the age of 24, has announced that he is taking an indefinite break from racing. Brown, who had a promising career ahead of him, suffered a life-threatening fall at Flemington racecourse last March. He underwent three surgeries in a week to stop internal bleeding and other injuries. Although he made a full comeback in September, Brown has not been seen race-riding since then.

The Emotional Toll

In a recent social media post, Brown opened up about the emotional toll his injury has taken on him. He admitted that he underestimated the amount of self-confidence, self-belief, dedication, and determination it would take to get back to his previous level. He expressed gratitude for the support he has received and stated that he will take more time to focus on his recovery.

Support from Loved Ones

Brown's girlfriend, Celine Gaudray, has been by his side throughout his rehabilitation. Despite witnessing the catastrophic injuries that can occur in the sport, Gaudray has continued to race. This weekend, the couple will travel to New Zealand, where Gaudray will participate in a big Group 2 race. Brown, however, will be on the sidelines, content to support his girlfriend from there.

It remains uncertain whether Brown will ever return to racing, but for now, he is prioritizing his well-being and taking the time he needs to recover.
