Watch flying jockey use rival horse and rider in unbelievable balancing act before race ends in controversial finish

THIS is the incredible moment a flying jockey uses a rival horse and rider to stay upright thanks to a brilliant balancing act.

Apprentice Logan McNeil took an almighty bump at the start of a race.

McNeil was almost sent somersaulting to the turf after his horse stumbled right out the stall
He was then sent flying into the air and crashing into a rival horse and jockey
He showed exceptional balance skills to remain upright and somehow finish the race

His horse Aspen Snowmass stumbled right out the gate and nearly sent him somersaulting forward.

McNeil was able to hold on but, when sent upright again, was shifted sharply to his right and flying up into the air.

He landed back down with a bang on fellow jockey Jack Hill and his mount Simply Inspiring.

Usually jockeys and horses colliding spells disaster but in this case it was the only thing that kept McNeil from hitting the deck at Kyneton racecourse in Australia.

Punters were blown away by the youngster’s skill – which came before a controversial photo finish to the race itself.

One said: “Skill, balance, determination. It’s a lot easier to fall off than to recover from something like this.”

Another wrote: “What an unbelievable bit of horsemanship.”

One comment read: “Looks like an amazing rodeo.”

A fellow racing fan said: “This is the most impressive thing I’ve seen in a long time. Well done to both jockeys, but that was unreal by Logan.”

While another wrote: “No words.”

‘UNBELIEVABLE’

Unfortunately for McNeil the incident put paid to any chance he had of winning and he finished a distant last.

But the two horses at the head of affairs were involved in a photo finish, which initially caused confusion.

Commentator Adam Olszanski was certain Kaleidoscope Eyes had pipped favourite Northern Melody in the final stride.

He said: “And Kaleidoscope Eyes in a head-bobbing finish I think just got its nose down to win.”

However, the official photo showed Northern Melody had actually managed to get in front at the crucial moment.

The finale left punters equally as shocked as what happened at the start.

One punter who backed Northern Melody said: “How it won I don’t know – but a win is a win.”

‘YOU F***ING BEAUTY’

While another posted: “Northern Melody you f***ing beauty, no idea how.”

This is the latest in a long line of miraculous jockey recoveries.

Alex Cruz was hailed for his skill in the saddle after coming from nowhere to win – despite losing his irons at the very start.

Hugh Morgan in Ireland managed a similar feat – but his was arguably even more impressive as it was done over fences.

The finish proved controversial as the wrong horse was originally called the winner by the commentator
