Watch viral video show Kentucky Derby punter’s hilarious celebration after landing winner during wedding ceremony

THIS Kentucky Derby punter went viral after a hilarious video showed him fighting to contain himself when landing a winning bet.

The bettor knew he could not afford to miss a second of the action from Churchill Downs over the weekend.

The man is seen staring intently as the race unfolds
He somehow manages to keep in his yell while discreetly pumping his fist as the bet lands

And though more than 50,000 punters flocked to the racecourse, he had to make do with watching on his phone while at a mate’s wedding.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, his big bet of the day happened to fall slap bang in the middle of the ceremony.

So he did what any normal person would do and discreetly got his phone out to watch.

Luckily for us, the person next to him decided to film it all.

The man, who has not been named, can be seen pumping his fist in joy, his face red with emotion and delight as his bet comes in.

He even opens his mouth to let out a roar – but manages to keep it silent with the reading taking place just a few feet away.

Somehow keeping a lid on himself, he then pumps his fist again and scrunches his face up into a ball.

He looks down at his phone for a third time and lets out another little fist pump.

Even the person one seat over peers across to see what’s going on

The camera then pans to the married-couple-to-be exchanging their vows at the front of the venue.

The shot returns to the punter then, where we see the man sitting next to him peer over to see what’s going on.

Social media users were in hysterics over the brilliant clip.

One wrote: “Normally, I’d be saying ‘there’s a degenerate for you’, but everyone that’s been dragged to a wedding on a Saturday in May gets it.”

Another said: “This is why you do what my wife and I did and get married early in the day so you can have the derby on the TV at the reception.”

Incredibly, one Twitter user admitted: “I love it! I watched Arrogate win the Dubai World Cup while standing outside of a funeral home. I didn’t go until I saw him win!”

Another joked: “If someone schedules a wedding on Kentucky Derby Day and wants to invite me, don’t.”

One said: “This keeps getting better the more I watch it.”

While another viewer wrote: “I could not be laughing any harder.”

At least this punter had a lot more luck than ‘Mattress Mack – who lost $2.3million, thought to be the biggest US racing bet ever, on Derby favourite Essential Quality.
