When is the Preakness Stakes?

The Preakness Stakes takes place on Saturday, May 15.

The post time is 6.50pm ET in the States, which is 11.50pm BST.

This will be the 146th running of the race and it is held at Pimlico racecourse in Baltimore, Maryland.

Sky Sports Racing will show the action live.

Will Kentucky Derby winner Medina Spirit run?

Yes.

The Bob Baffert-trained horse is the talk of the racing world after failing a drugs test after the Derby triumph.

Medina Spirit tested positive for betamethasone, which Baffert said could have come from an ointment.

The trainer has not travelled with the horse to race, saying he would be a ‘distraction’.

Medina Spirit starts as favourite on the back of his Kentucky Derby win.
