KYPRIOS just prevailed over Stradivarius in a stunning finish to this year’s Goodwood Cup.
The Aidan O’Brien runner stuck his neck out on the line to land the prize in the 2m Group 1 of just over £280,000.
Trueshan was given his chance to run despite conditions not 100% being in his favour.
Kyrpios and Trueshan were both sent for home a couple of furlongs from home in a staying race for the ages.
Stradivarius – ridden by Andrea Atzeni – went for the inside route and was thundering home to chase the top two in the market.
The line JUST came in time for Ryan Moore on Kyprios who backed up his Ascot Gold Cup win with the feature on day one of Glorious Goodwood.

Where did the favourite finish?
Kyprios was sent off the 6/4 favourite.
He was always at the head of the race but was challenged by Trueshan a couple of furlongs out.
The favourite then just got the line in time to get home in front and win the Goodwood Cup.
