Andy Murray suffers fresh injury nightmare with bone bruising taking longer to heal following hip surgery

ANDY MURRAY has suffered another injury setback and doesnt know when he will return.

The Scot, who had career-saving hip surgery 12 months ago, hurt his pelvis during the Davis Cup pool stages in Madrid in November.

The 32-year-old pulled out of Mondays Australian Open singles draw to spend more time in London recovering and training.

Yet his hopes of playing in ATP events in France and Holland next month have been cruelly dashed.

It is not thought his Wimbledons singles dreams are in jeopardy at this stage and he is still hopeful of a comeback in the spring.

Muzza said: The bone bruising is taking longer to heal than first thought — so I wont be playing in Montpellier or Rotterdam in February.

I dont want to rush anything or put a timeline on my recovery.

Meanwhile, Australian Open chiefs expect he tournament to start and finish on time despite fears over poor air quality due to the country’s bushfires.
