EMMA RADUCANU is looking to kick-start her tennis career – thanks to a pep talk from England captain Harry Kane.

Now some people might it funny that a Tottenham striker is advising someone how to win silverware given the club’s long run without major trophies.

But SunSport understands Kane and Raducanu – the 2021 US Open champion – have exchanged messages and had the odd chat about their sporting lives.

It is believed the 19-year-old – whose New York defence ended in the first round – shared ideas with Kane, 29, and discussed how to cope with the trappings of fame.

Sports fans were quick to comment on Kane’s mentoring of the tennis star, with one saying: “Two great individuals.”

Another said: “That’s class.”

And another said: “Makes sense, Emma’s a Spurs fan and Harry is under a lot of pressure from Spurs and England fans to do well.

“Fair play, H.”

One remarked: “Trophy-winning advice.”

Another chimed in: “Learning from someone who copes with large amounts of unnecessary criticism – especially in the face of “winning nothing” – will be good for her resilience levels.”

Raducanu, who wore a Spurs shirt during the Stuttgart Open in April, has struggled this year with form and fitness, falling to 76th in the world rankings.bet

The Kent star – who turns 20 on Sunday – is on hols this week as a right wrist injury has kept her out of the Billie Jean King Cup Finals.

The Brits face Kazakhstan on Tuesday and then Spain on Thursday – with the group winner progressing to the semi-finals on Saturday.

On paper, they are the weakest of the 12 nations in Glasgow in terms of world rankings.

But the squad of Harriet Dart, Katie Boulter, Heather Watson, Olivia Nicholls and Alicia Barnett have bonded well in Scotland thanks to coffee and comedy.

Captain Anne Keothavong said: “We recognise that we’re the underdogs in our group. There’s no doubt about that.

“But equally, the players on this team are capable of scoring big wins and they’ve showed that, if not this year then in the past.

“So, we do feel like we’ve got a good shot at it.

“They will feel the love and the fact that we’re playing in front of our home crowd should help lift them when they’re out there in the heat of battle.

“The girls are now familiar with Glasgow and its coffee shops.

“And they have been very good at impersonations, which has kept the team very much amused.
