The Russian proudly held up one of his prized catches for the camera.

The former world number one was a force to be reckoned with in the 1990s as he won two Grand Slams.
And while Novak Djokovic is set to embark on another French Open campaign next week, this 49-year-old was crowned winner 27 years ago.
He beat Michael Stich in the final 7–6(7–4), 7–5, 7–6(7–4).
Three years later he won the Australian Open after coming from behind to beat Thomas Enqvist in the final.
His success down under continued the following year with gold in the Olympics after defeating Tommy Haas in a five-set thriller.
Nowadays he is celebrating in a different way as he captioned the photo of himself holding a fish: “With a trophy 
!”
The former star is of course Yevgeny Kafelnikov, who was inducted into the tennis hall of fame in 2019.
Kafelnikov is showing his age with his grey stubble, while he is unsurprisingly not as athletic as he once was.

As well as fishing, Kafelnikov still regularly pursues his other sporting love – golf.
He won the Russian Amateur Open Championship of Golf in 2011 and still shares videos of himself in action on the green on social media.
