It came as the clock appeared to stop during Djokovic’s serve

The shot clock appeared to stop at 12 seconds

And this left fans believing it handed Djokovic an advantage.

Fuming fans took to social media to vent their frustration.

One wrote: “What is this corruption at Wimbledon with the shot clock pausing on Djokovic service games? Madness.”

A second said: “The Wimbledon serve clock is clearly irrelevant/inconsequential and Djokovic knows it.”

“Why is the shot clock being stopped when Novax is serving???
Unfair advantage to him,” declared a third.

A fourth exclaimed: “Was the clock just paused? Because if so, isn’t that rigging in #Djokovic’s favour??”

The serial champion’s serve tactic was picked up on by BBC commentator Andrew Castle, with one fan remarking: “Half expecting Andrew Castle to walk out on to the court from commentary with a stopwatch in hand pointing and pontificating at the umpire about the shot clock.”
