How Emma Raducanu’s £10m net worth and lifestyle dwarfs her US Open final rival with sponsors Nike, HSBC and Dior

BY winning the US Open, Emma Raducanu clearly stole an advantage over rival Leylah Fernandez.

The young tennis stars, both 20, came head-to-head in 2021 in a shock final at Flushing Meadows with the Brit emerging victorious 6-4, 6-3.

Since Emma Raducanu beat Leylah Fernandez in the US Open final, both have enjoyed contrasting lifestyles

While Fernandez has become the face of avocados

Since then, Emma’s net worth has exploded – with sponsors Nike, Wilson, HSBC, Porsche, Vodafone, British Airways, Evian, and Dior just some of her backers.

They have all contributed towards her reported £10million fortune.

Leylah is believed to have made around £4.8million in comparison, with £2.8million being from prize money on the ATP Tour.

She is a brand ambassador for Avocados from Mexico, as well as Morgan Stanley, Lululemon, and Google.

Raking it in

There’s no doubt off the court, Raducanu is big business.

Just a few days ago, she was laid up in a hospital bed where she showed bandages on her wrists, after undergoing operations to fix longstanding issues.

Her ankle was also operated on, meaning she will miss Wimbledon and the French Open this summer.

That won’t only affect her tennis commitments, her various fashion deals will also have to hold.

In 2021, shortly after her famous US Open victory, she joined the house of Dior as an ambassador for a reported £2million.

The same year Tiffany & Co also signed her up for a cool £2million. Last year at Wimbledon, she wore £30,000 worth of Tiffany & Co. Pearl and Diamond Earrings as she played.

Another endorsement with Porsche allowed her to swap her £5,000 Dacia Sandero for a brand new 911 worth £125,000 in 2022. Although, she has admitted her reliable first motor stays in her garage.

She said: “For me to a brand ambassador for Porsche means a lot. Porsche is one of the brands I’ve always loved from a young age.

“One of my first tennis coaches drove a 911. Whenever I would turn up to practice in the morning, I would see his Porsche, I would go ‘wow’ and be dreaming of one day sitting in my own.

“My favourite car is the 911 for sure. Throughout the generations it’s so unique and beautiful in every way. I feel like it’s one of the most iconic cars out there.”

Nike and Wilson throw a reported £100,000-per-annum her way, while Vodafone, HSBC, British Airways, Evian and Sports Direct beef up her bank account further more.

Ripe for picking

It’s not quite as glam for Fernandez off the court.

The fashion houses aren’t clamouring for her just yet, although Lululemon chose her to push their first foray into tennis clothing last year.

“Hopefully I can be a big impact into it and a big help in the designs,” she said at the time of signing the deal.

She has since been seen on the court wearing their range, with the £128 white tennis tank dress seemingly her favourite.

Last year, Fernandez also signed a multi-year deal with investment bank Morgan Stanley.

She admitted she was keen on a deal on the basis of the firm’s giving back initiatives.

She said: “They have a longstanding commitment to giving back to their communities, which is something I am passionate about.

“I look forward to partnering with the Morgan Stanley team in expanding access to the game of tennis, especially amongst underrepresented communities and diverse youth.”

Fernandez is also on Google’s payroll, appearing in adverts for their Pixel 6 mobile and showing its capability of offering translating services in a variety of languages.

The Canadian is also with Subway, who, no doubt, provide her a limitless about of subs.

But, rather peculiarly, she has proven to be somewhat of a funny fruit with her latest endorser.

Back in October, she put pen to paper on a contract to be the new brand ambassador for Avocados from Mexico.

Maybe she is having the last laugh – with avocados being lapped up by Gen Z.

Astonishingly, they star in over 13 million videos on Instagram and have generated around six billion views on TikTok.

It’s also her favourite pre-match treat.

“My favourite pre-workout snack is an avocado smoothie that I can whip up in an instant and carry with me on my way to the training center!”

Not such a funny fruit after all.

Avocados for Mexico is Fernandez’s most bizarre sponsorship deal
