Pegula reached the quarter-finals in four of the last five Grand Slams but is yet to go beyond into a semi-final – although she did reach the French Open doubles final in 2022 alongside Coco Gauff.
Her family is worth more than £5billion thanks to dad Terry’s business in natural gas, leading to the family owning both the Buffalo Bills in the NFL and NHL franchise Buffalo Sabres.
However, despite her enormous wealth, Pegula is determined to make her own way and is doing so by earning more than £6.5million in tennis career earnings.
The star told Wide World of Sport: “When I was younger, it was more like I wanted to make a name for myself and then I realised as I got older, I should embrace the whole family aspect of it instead.
“It was almost hurting me in a way because it wasn’t going to go away and I learned to embrace that, kind of have fun with it.
“Tennis is my thing, it’s my job, it’s my career. It’s very separate and my parents don’t really have any say right now in anything I do on the court.”
The foodie also opened her own healthy restaurant and launched skin-care brand Ready24.
But Pegula certainly knows how to let her hair down away from the court.

The mega-rich star regularly takes to social media to update her 100,000 Instagram followers on her glam lifestyle – from luxury holidays to looking after her beloved dogs.
Pegula may be one of the world’s best tennis players but knows how to rip a driver on the golf course, too, as she often winds down with 18 holes – or a fishing trip on one of the family yachts.
The New Yorker also gets to drive a mega blacked-out Mercedes car and loves hanging out with her pooches.

And the besotted couple love to jet off to exotic destinations when the busy tennis calendar permits.
Pegula – who goes by Jessie to her friends and family – abseiled down a waterfall in Costa Rica and soaked up the sun in the Caribbean with trips to Turks and Caicos Islands as well as the Exumas Islands.
