Is Andy Murray playing at Wimbledon 2021?

ANDY MURRAY hasn’t been in action at the All England club since 2017, but he wants to make a big impact at SW19 once again.

The 34-year-old was knocked out of the 2017 championships by Sam Querry in five gruelling sets.

Andy Murray is back at Wimbledon this year for the first time since 2017

A two-time Wimbledon champion, Murray has seen the last few years of his career slip away due to injury.

The Scot, however, is raring to test himself against the best once again.

Is Andy Murray playing at Wimbledon 2021?

Yes! Murray is finally back to compete in front of his adoring fans at the most iconic tennis club in the world.

Murray entered the tournament as a wildcard and will face Georgian Nikoloz Basilashvili, ranked No 24, in his first-round match.

The three-time Slam winner has been hitting with the legendary Roger Federer this week in preparation for Monday’s start.

Murray played at Queen’s last week but was knocked out in the second round by Matteo Berrettini, following a win over Benoit Paire.

“I’m delighted that I can be back competing here again,” Murray said.

“I’m most excited about being in front of a big crowd and the fans. That’s really something I’ve missed a lot.

“I know it’s not normal, but it feels somewhat normal now.

“We’re a couple days out from Wimbledon, with all the players around, practising, everybody doing the media stuff, knowing that in a couple of days’ time we’ll be playing, not in front of a full crowd, but in front of a lot of people.”

Murray won his first Wimbledon title in 2013, when he beat Novak Djokovic in three sets on Centre Court.

He then added his second three years later in another straight sets win over Canadian Milos Raonic.
