JOHN McEnroe made a remarkable transformation as he balanced his doubly duty at Wimbledon.
The popular broadcaster looked completely different when he appeared on British television minutes after ESPN.
John McEnroe looked sharp on Centre Court while live on BBC minutes before the ladies’ final
Just before that, he wore a strikingly loud outfit on ESPN’s ‘Breakfast at Wimbledon’
McEnroe, 64, works for both BBC in the UK and ESPN in the US during the Wimbledon fortnight.
He appeared on ESPN’s ‘Breakfast at Wimbledon’ show just after 1pm local time in London (8am ET) wearing a bright outfit.
But, just before 2pm local (9am ET), McEnroe popped up on British television screens on Centre Court for BBC’s coverage.
McEnroe was in ESPN’s side studio for a segment alongside host Chris Fowler and his brother Patrick McEnroe.
As host Chris McKendry introduced the trio from ESPN’s main studio at Wimbledon, McEnroe interrupted.
He said: “Hey Chris do you like my shirt?
“This is the shirt I was going to wear yesterday but you guys psyched me out.”
The day before, he complimented McKendry on her outfit choice while hosting ESPN’s coverage.
McEnroe wore a black shirt but was blown away by the host’s “peach thing” look.
Later on Saturday, he joined BBC’s Clare Balding and Tracy Austin courtside to work for British television.
McEnroe calls the ladies’ final for the BBC and the men’s final for ESPN every year at Wimbledon.
And, by the time he showed up on British television, the three-time Wimbledon champ was unrecognizable.
He looked smart and sharp in a black suit with a white shirt and red tie.
The popular broadcaster may have remembered being criticized by British tennis fans for his casual look earlier in the tournament.
And McEnroe joined Austin in the BBC commentary booth to call the final between Ons Jabeur and Marketa Vondrousova.
