Nick Kyrgios and Boris Becker in furious Twitter spat as tennis bad boy calls legend ‘doughnut and not sharpest tool’

NICK KYRGIOS called Boris Becker a doughnut in a furious Twitter spat on Tuesday morning.

The former Wimbledon champion, 52, hit out at Kyrgios for his recent comments against Novak Djokovic and Alexander Zverev.

The Australian hothead, 25, tore into the pair for their irresponsible actions regarding coronavirus in recent weeks.

Djokovic hosted the doomed Adria Tour event – with a host of tennis’ biggest names, including the world No1 himself, testing positive for the virus.

One of the competitors in Europe was Zverev, who revealed he would self-isolate as a precaution – only to be seen at a nightclub in Monte Carlo six days later.

Clearly sick of Kyrgios‘ gobby outbursts, Becker lashed out on Twitter – only for the feisty Aussie to hit back as only he can.

Here’s how the conversation on Twitter unfolded…

Becker wrote: “Don’t like no #rats! Anybody telling off fellow sportsman/woman is no friend of mine!

“Look yourself in the mirror and think your better than us…”

Kyrgios hit back: “For goodness sake Boris, I’m not competing or trying to throw anyone under the bus.

“It’s a global pandemic and if someone is as idiotic as Alex to do what he has done, I’ll call him out for it. Simple.”

But Becker continued: “We all live in the pandemic called #Covid-19! It’s terrible and it killed to many lives…

“We should protect our families/loved ones and follow the guidelines but still don’t like #rats”.

Never one to be outdone, Kyrgios replied: “Rats? For holding someone accountable?

“Strange way to think of it champion, I’m just looking out for people.

WHEN my family and families all over the world have respectfully done the right thing and you have a goose waving his arms around, imma say something.

“@TheBorisBecker is a bigger doughnut than I thought. Can hit a volley, obviously not the sharpest tool in the shed though.”

Getting sarcastic, Becker replied: “Your funny guy ….how is it down under? Respect all the guidelines?”

Kyrgios quipped back: “Haha nah bro I’m good, don’t act like you’re my friend now because you got sat down.”
