Novak Djokovic OUT of US Open after accidentally hitting linesperson with ball

NOVAK DJOKOVIC has been kicked out of the US Open after unintentionally hitting a line judge with a ball.

The World No1 was in the middle of his fourth-round match with Pablo Carreno Busta when he was disqualified for hitting the lineswoman.

The Serbian allowed his frustration to get the better of him after he was broken in the 11th game to move 5-6 behind.

He subsequently turned and unintentionally whacked the ball in the direction of the lineswoman in annoyance.

Djokovic then appeared instantly alarmed as he noticed his effort strike the woman in the face and send her toppling over.

The tournament supervisor was then called to the court and made the decision that the Serb had been defaulted.

His exit means that the Grand Slam will be the first without one of Djokovic, Roger Federer, Andy Murray or Rafael Nadal in the semi-finals since 2004.
