Sebastian Korda, son of Czech tennis ace Petr Korda, has risen through the ranks to become one of the top-30 tennis players in the world. Following in his father's footsteps, Korda is making a name for himself in the sport.

A Tennis Legacy: Petr Korda's Career

Petr Korda, a former professional tennis player, won ten career singles titles, including the 1998 Australian Open. He also reached the No2 spot in the world rankings. Despite falling short of becoming No1, Korda's career was marred by controversy when he tested positive for a banned substance and received a 12-month ban.

The Korda Family's Sporting Pedigree

The Korda family is known for their exceptional athletic abilities. Petr Korda's daughters, Jessica and Nelly, are among the best female golfers in the world. Sebastian, their son, is now making waves in tennis after initially playing ice hockey and golf. The Korda siblings were raised in Florida and all represent the United States in their respective sports.

Sebastian Korda's Tennis Journey

Sebastian Korda, born in 2000, followed in his father's footsteps by focusing on tennis from a young age. He won the boys' Australian Open in 2018 and made his ATP Tour debut the same year. Korda has since achieved his first ATP title and reached his first Grand Slam quarterfinals at the 2023 Australian Open. He is currently coached by Martin and Radek Stepanek, with a special bond between the two families.
