Seething Novak Djokovic DENTS Wimbledon net in furious outburst… before giving his mangled racket to Centre Court fan

FRUSTRATED Novak Djokovic smashed his racket against the net post as his Wimbledon dream was dealt a huge blow.

The seven-time winner was hoping to land a record-equalling eighth title, but had to beat No.1 seed Carlos Alcaraz in the final.

However, with the score tied up going into the fifth set, Alcaraz managed to break Djokovic’s serve, leaving the Serb fuming.

He then proceeded to smash his racket against the post of the net.

This act saw the 36-year-old handed a warning by the umpire, while also literally leaving his mark on the post in the form of a dent.

And fans were left far from impressed with his antics, with one fan saying: “Djokovic has lost his head.”

A second commented: “Djokovic throws a temper tantrum and now his wrist hurts. Serves him right.”

“Djokovic the baby is throwing his toys out the pram, what’s new,” remarked a third.

A fourth said: “Unsportsmanlike act.”

While a fifth typed: “Djokovic antics are exactly why I’ve never liked him and he will never get the respect that Federer or Nadal has gotten when it’s all said and done.”

Another added: “Being a sore loser when it happens means stop being a petulant child, grow up!”

Djokovic won each of the last four Wimbledon titles, but it is the first time since facing serial SW19 winner Roger Federer in the 2019 final that he has been taken the full distance.

He landed himself in hot water earlier with his perceived time-wasting tactics in the second set.

But 20-year-old Alcaraz proved himself to truly be one of tennis‘ rising stars by claiming victory in an enthralling match.

The Spaniard’s second Grand Slam victory came in a 1-6, 7-6, 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 thriller.
