Shocking moment Taylor Fritz VOMITS on court mid-match after visibly struggling against Tommy Paul

AMERICAN tennis ace Taylor Fritz VOMITTED on court during his epic battle with Tommy Paul.

The new world No5 lost 6-3 6-7 7-6 in a three-hours-and-25-minute marathon in the Mexico heat on Friday night.

The American needed a court-side bucket to throw up into

And it proved too much at one stage, with Fritz needing to chunder into a bin as the physicality of the tennis took its toll.

Fritz, 25, was preparing to serve at 5-6 in the second set but had to walk towards his bench covering his mouth with his hand and leaned over the bucket.

The cameras do not show him actually throwing up, but the umpire quickly races down from her chair to remove the bin as soon as the American ace walks back towards the baseline.

Fritz wipes his face with a towel and looks completely dishevelled as the commentator reluctantly informs the viewers he should be given a time violation for breaking the 25-second rule between points.

However, the Californian survived the punishment from Raluca Alexandra Andrei, who earlier gave Paul a violation for taking too long as he also struggled with exhaustion.

Fritz could not recover from the unfortunate mishap as his seven-match winning streak, including his Delray Beach triumph, was ended by compatriot and close pal Paul.

Paul went on to lose the Acapulco final to Aussie Alex de Minaur, despite taking the first set.

Fritz’s girlfriend Morgan Riddle updated concerned fans on her man’s condition.

She wrote: “After he got sick on court last night we were up until 4am with the tournament doctors.

“He couldn’t keep any food down, chills, severe dehydration, full body cramping and almost had to go to the hospital. So scary.

“He is too stubborn to default and pushed himself too hard.

“These high-humidity tournaments are no joke.

“Sad way to end the week but so proud of the few weeks and excited to get to Indian Wells.”

The couple, who feature in Netflix’s Break Point docuseries, now heads to Indian Wells where he is defending his Masters 1000 title, beating Rafael Nadal in the 2022 final despite severely damaging his ankle in the warm-up.
