The group dined at Nobu in Malibu

The group got together at Malibu’s plush Nobu restaurant, with Bouchard dressing all in pink with Barbie on the agenda.

And Bouchard was able to blow the candles out on a brilliant cake inspired by the popular doll.

Patrons of Nobu dine on expensive meals, with a king crab dish costing as much as £73, while even a salad as an appetiser can set you back £30.

Bouchard posed with friends and family for a number of special pictures, later posting them to her 2.1million Instagram followers.

The former world No5 has endured an injury-hit few years and has not competed on the WTA Tour since March 2021.

She was last in action in Monterrey, where she lost in round one to China’s Lin Zhu in straight sets.

The former Wimbledon finalist turned 28

Bouchard has gotten fans’ hopes up by sharing a video clip of herself practising her forehand.

One optimistic fan wrote: “This fh has calendar slam potential.”

To which Bouchard joked in response: “??? keeping the expectations real low I see!!”

A fan account added: “This past 8 mos have given us a glimpse of what life is gonna be like when @geniebouchard does retire from the tour.

“So we just really need to support & enjoy every moment she gives us. Because frankly it’s gonna suck big time. Not looking forward to that at all. So LFG Genie! ?

But Bouchard was quick to pour cold water on any retirement talk, replying: “Can we not go there yet plsssss lol.”

Amid bad luck with injuries, Genie has been ranked outside of the top 100 since July 2019.
