TENNIS legend Boris Becker told his bankruptcy trial his first wife Barbara endured threats to her life in Germany.

He is accused of concealing assets including Wimbledon trophies after being declared bankrupt.

Jurors heard he was convicted of tax evasion in 2002 over properties in Germany while registered in Monaco.

He said he increased his stays in Munich because his wife Barbara was based there.

Becker, 54, was asked how his relationship with the black model was received.

He said: “Members of the media wanted me to be with a German-looking blonde wife.”
