Tennis Star Chris Eubanks Makes Bizarre Dash to the Bathroom During US Open Match

Forfeits Game and Converses with Umpire About Taking a Penalty

Tennis fans were left in shock as Chris Eubanks, 27, abruptly ran off court during his Men's Singles US Open match against Benjamin Bonzi. The American player, who was already battling stomach issues, forfeited the game to rush to the bathroom mid-match. In a bizarre conversation with the umpire, Eubanks asked about taking a penalty and the amount of time he could gain. Despite his efforts, Eubanks lost the match 6-7, 6-2, 2-6, 6-7.

The Urgent Bathroom Break

Eubanks, already behind 2-1 in sets, was tied 5-5 in the fourth set when nature called. In a desperate attempt to ease his stomach issues, he made the decision to dash off court. It was reported that Eubanks had previously requested nausea medication from the umpire. The Daily Mail revealed a surprising conversation between Eubanks and the umpire, where he contemplated sacrificing the next game for a quick bathroom break.

A Quick Game and a Quick Exit

Before heading off court, Eubanks was given the green light by the umpire to play one more game. With Bonzi hitting two aces, Eubanks quickly won the game 40-0, giving him the opportunity to make a swift exit. However, this diversion did not lead to a victory for Eubanks, who ultimately lost in a tiebreak to Bonzi with a score of 9-7.

Despite his early exit from the US Open, Eubanks recently made headlines for his impressive run into the quarter-finals of Wimbledon, solidifying his place as a rising star in the tennis world.
