Osaka has had a injury-hit season where she has only managed to accumulate a total of 17 matches.

And the Japanese star confirmed on Twitter that a left Achilles injury has ruled her out of this year’s Wimbledon.

Osaka mentioned that her Achilles ‘still isn’t right’ and then continued to describe where she is at mentally.

Naomi wrote: “I feel like life keeps dealing cards and you’re never gonna be used to them.

“But it’s how you adapt to uncomfortable situation that really says stuff about your character.”
