Watch as Arsenal boss Arteta is forced to jump out of pitch invader’s path as fan storms pitch after win over West Ham

ARSENAL boss Mikel Arteta was forced to jump out of the way as a pitch invader hurtled towards him last night.

The Spaniard was revelling in his side’s 2-0 victory over West Ham United when a fan started running straight for him.

The Arsenal boss had to be nimble to avoid the supporter

In a video posted by Goal’s Charles Watts, orange-clad stewards could be seen plodding after a fan after the final whistle had blown.

As the supporter evaded detection he nearly crashed straight into Arteta, only for the Gunners boss to swiftly get out of his way.

After the fan was finally tracked down, the Arsenal boss truly celebrated his side’s big win.

Gabriel Martinelli slotted the Gunners into the lead in the 48th minute, after being slipped in by superb stand-in skipper Alexandre Lacazette.

Hammers boss David Moyes was left fuming by Anthony Taylor’s decision to send Vladimir Coufal off as he gave away a 66th minute penalty.

Lukasz Fabianski subsequently saved Lacazette’s spot kick, but West Ham couldn’t get back in the game.

And substitute Emile Smith Rowe made the points safe late on as the Gunners clambered into the top four.

Reflecting on the match, Arteta, 39, said: “Well really pleased with the performance.

“The attitude the commitment, the quality that we showed in the game and the chemistry that we generated again with our supporters.

“To win a game at home it’s really important because it sets the tone of the team against a good side who it’s difficult to dominate the way we’ve done today.”
